Powered by the all new Gamma Core drivetrain, the Gtek is
Planet Eclipses’ mid-range spool valve offering. A single tube marker, the Gtek
gives players the simple lines, enclosed bolt system, smooth shooting, and
quiet sound signature they expect from a spool valve marker and combines those
features with the value, reliability, and efficiency common to every Planet
Eclipse paintball gun. The Gtek features a quick-release bolt system and a compact, lightweight, and low profile body. Designed to strike the perfect balance of on-field performance, comfort, reliability and outstanding value, the Gtek is the marker some people have been waiting a very long time for. And now it's here. The Planet Eclipse Gtek. Game on!
Reliability and testing
Planet Eclipse subjected the Gtek’s Gamma Core to the most extreme environmental testing they’ve ever devised for one of their paintball markers, and it passed each trial without fail. They repeatedly stored the Gtek at temperatures as low as -20F for days at a time, and the marker fired at full velocity on the first shot every time, without FSDO (First Shot Drop Off). Planet Eclipse also cycled the Gtek for hours on end, without performing maintenance and at temperatures below freezing. Once they felt satisfied with the Gtek’s performance at one weather extreme, Planet Eclipse tested its performance at another. At a temperature of 100F, the Gtek cycled for tens of thousands of shots without fail or the need for maintenance. The Gtek’s Gama Core shatters the myth that a spool valve markers can’t function in cold weather and takes the legendary performance of Planet Eclipse’s paintball guns to a new level.
When developing the Gtek’s Gamma Core, Planet Eclipse applied the lessons they learned with the IV Core used in the Geo line to make the most of the air used to fire a paintball. Although the operation method of the Gtek shares nothing in common with the Geo, the Breech Sensing technology of the IV Core is present in the Gamma Core. The Breech Sensing technology seals off the firing chamber mid-shot. This means no tail end air is lost and wasted down the barrel; the Gtek uses exactly the amount of air required to fully propel a paintball, and nothing more. The Gamma Core saves over 30 PSI on every shot due to its operation- that’s 30 PSI saved per shot over every normal spool valve system.
The Gama Core also features a unique system in which the spool and bolt are completely decoupled from each other, and in which the air that drives the bolt forward also releases down the barrel instead of wastefully venting into the atmosphere like most other systems. These features improve the Gtek’s air efficiency by ensuring the only air wasted is that which drives the relatively small spool valve.
Feel, sound and paint handling
The Gtek owes its unique feel and shot signature to its Gamma Core drivetrain. With an operating pressure of 135 PSI, the Gamma Core delivers a smooth shot with a quiet sound signature.
The Gtek also features a three-stage bolt acceleration. Each stage of the bolt’s movement has been engineered to deliver the perfect balance of paint handling, efficiency, feel, and reliability. The first stage, the push-off stage, gently picks up the ball to get it moving in the direction of the breech without clipping the second ball in the feed-stack. During the second stage, the bolt speed accelerates to create an efficient valve resolution, give the Gtek its low sound signature, and enable sustainable high rates of fire. During the third stage, the bolt seals the breech and the main valve opens to release air behind the paintball. This ensures the valve opens cleanly for maximum airflow and efficiency.
The Gtek comes packed with other features that are equally as impressive as its Gamma Core drivetrain.
Like its counterpart, the Etek, the Gtek features rugged glass reinforced composites throughout its construction. The Gtek’s grip frame, breech sensor covers, feed tube, and OOPS knob are manufactured from these incredibly durable and resilient materials. All of the Gteks other components feature the same 6061-T6 aluminum construction found on other Planet Eclipse markers, such as the CS1 and Ego LV1.1
Dual-density rubber grips completely cover the Gtek’s grip frame. Inside, the grip frame houses an Etek 5 circuit board with LED display that can be upgraded to an OLED display without changing the main circuit board.
An SL4 regulator serves as the Gtek’s in-line regulator and foregrip. The proven regulator design is consistent enough that Planet Eclipse uses it on the Geo 3.5 and Ego LV1.1. It has been optimized to work with any compressed air tank, regardless of output pressure. A dual-density unibody foregrip sleeve protects the SL4 and provides a comfortable, stable shooting platform.
Finally, the Gtek ships standard with a 14.5” Shaft4/Shaft5 compatible barrel tip. The tip features extra porting for a reduced sound signature, improved consistency, and better air efficiency.
