A decade ago, the engineers behind the Luxe collaborated with the game's top professional players to create the best possible platform for a paintball gun. Their teamwork wound up revolutionizing the way paintball guns could perform and feel. The latest version of the Luxe, the ICE, maintains the high level of performance, comfort and stability set by its predecessor. It has also evolved to push those standards even further.
The Luxe ICE's ergonomics make it one of the most comfortable and stable shooting platforms on the market today. Let's start with the front end.
The grooved grip panel now runs the entire length of the regulator. Whether you grip the regulator from a high position or a low one, your hands will be comfortable and stable. The space between the the regulator and the trigger guard has also been increased to make it easier to play with your thumb behind the regulator.
The back end of the Luxe ICE is just as comfortable as the front end. The trigger area is as spacious as ever, so whether you like to let your fingers fly loose or keep them tight, you'll have all the room you need. The rear of the trigger frame now features a more rounded surface for a more comfortable and secure contact point with your shooting hand. The ASA knob also received a rework so that it sits out of the way during play and is easier to maintain during maintenance.
Internally, the Luxe ICE boasts a completely redesigned bolt system. The bolt's tail cover has been streamlined for looks and feel. A single push gives you access to the entire bolt assembly.
The first thing you'll notice about the LUXE ICE's bolt is it's weight-or lack thereof. The new, light-weight system features a nickel-Teflon coating. The more lubricious surface reduces friction, which in turn cuts down on the amount of maintenance the Luxe ICE requires. DLX reports a positive increase of 200%, but individual results will vary. The firing can also received a redesign. The larger access points make maintenance faster and easier than ever. The rest of the bolt components were redesigned to improve air flow and reduce turbulence. The Luxe ICE's bolt guide now moves in relation to the bolt. The result is a 40 PSI drop in operating pressure and a 20% increase in air efficiency. You can expect around 1500 shots from a 68/4500 on a cold fill. The new design also makes for a smoother cycle, which makes your shots more accurate.
An all new regulator design makes maintenance a breeze. Now all you need is one single allen key to accomplish all of the maintenance for the entire reg.
The electronics also got an overhaul on the new Luxe. Updated connectors are all updated making it very easy to connect or disconnect any of the plugs on the board. The new connectors make it nearly impossible to mess up a connection.
Add in the sleek milling, and the Luxe ICE is ready to leave its mark on a new decade.
